| Regional Sales Director
Location: Northeast
Minimum
Qualifications:
BS degree or
equivalent in a scientific discipline. 6+ years sales experience in biotechnology-related
industry and 2+ years management experience. Demonstrated knowledge
of consultative selling. Experience with Managed Care, financial analysis,
legal/regulatory issues and ability to
apply this knowledge in sales and sales management.
Responsibilities:
Sales
Activity - Responsible for managing the sales staff
and the sale of services in assigned geographic region. Leads cross-functional teams on
large or strategically important sales efforts, key account relationships and contracts.
May serve as liaison between customer and company personnel on administrative and business
development matters.
Analyzes,
recommends and directs appropriate
development and activities of sales personnel to achieve regional goals. Sets appropriate
sales and performance goals for personnel.
Analyzes
customers near-term and longer-range requirements and promotes consideration of company
services to meet such requirements. Conducts appropriate financial analyses and considers
impact of applicable regulatory requirements.
Exchanges
pertinent sales and market information with
VP Sales, other Regional Directors and other appropriate Staff and Managers.
Forecasting/Strategy
- Develops regional sales plans and forecasts. Participates in the development of, and
manages regional revenue and expense budgets. Recommends and implements strategies to
preserve revenue bases and build new business opportunities in complex business
environment.
Marketing -
Provides feedback to appropriate company personnel regarding customer response to sales
offerings and service. Keeps abreast of marketing plans and incorporates into sales
approach. May represent
organization at trade shows or scientific meetings.
Assists in the rollout and implementation of
marketing programs,
Training -
Requires limited technical training and limited training in consultative sales techniques.
Requires some training in financial analysis, legal/regulatory and business development
(acquisitions, complex strategies, etc.) Provides training to direct reports. Requires
some training
in management of personnel.
Supervision -
Requires only limited supervision in planning and implementing sales approach to meet
regional sales objectives. Requires general supervision in management
and development of personnel. |
