Research Scientist/Engineer
Location: Northeast

Accountable for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of existing and new technology development processes with a focus on pharmaceuticals, controlled drug delivery and biomaterials. May direct the work of technicians and/or engineers assigned to a particular project, as relevant.

1. Plans, designs, implements, and evaluates new technologies, relevant to application of pharmaceuticals to controlled drug delivery systems, coatings/biomaterials
2. Compiles and analyzes research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified processes or products
3. Analyzes test results and provides input/summary reports to determine if functional and performance specifications are met
4. Provides recommendations regarding future steps to optimize the processes or product performance, as appropriate
5. Implements and maintains appropriate documentation on all projects
6. Provides project planning, tracking and reporting on multiple projects, if applicable
7. Interacts with members of the department as well as from various other departments
8. Oversees and instructs technicians and engineers assigned to the projects, as relevant

1. Degree in Pharmaceutics/Biomaterials/Biomedical engineering, with a strong background in the area of drug delivery and pharmaceuticals.
2. Ph.D. with 3-5 years of experience or MS with 5+ years of experience in the above area
3. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
4. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects, in parallel
