Medical Education
Locations: Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The CM is responsible
for managing medical education resources (medical experts, medical writers, editors,
proofreaders, graphic artists, medical illustrators and animators) to deliver and
integrate top quality content into all sales training and marketing products. In a highly collaborative environment, the CM will
work closely with the client and the production team to manage the entire project
lifecycle including planning, scheduling, development, QA, and delivery. This position reports to the Director, and will be
an integral part of the regional client focused project team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work
with clients, account/project managers, sales team, and company management to develop
appropriate programs that meet training and/or educational objectives (modifying
healthcare knowledge), and provide successful applications for clients business
needs.
- Research,
plan, and execute content development projects.
- Manage
both in-house and outsourced medical content development.
- Supervise
medical subject matter experts as course needs dictate, and edit their output for
accuracy, style, and content. Oversee development of written storyboards.
- Critically
review storyboards/illustrations/animations and personally write content when appropriate.
- Plan
the organization and deployment of learning assets.
- Work
with medical illustrators, animators, and graphic artists to plan the delivery of visual
assets in learning products.
- Develop
quizzes to test achievement of training objectives.
- Develop
course outlines and production plans.
- Stay
abreast of the current instructional design and implementation strategies as well as the
appropriate client applications.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- MD,
DO, or PharmD degree a requirement.
- Excellent
writing/editorial/referencing skills for content development, as well as familiarity with
style reference guides.
- Strong
presentation and communication skills for pitching new business.
- Proven
success in a deadline-driven production environment.
- At
least one year experience writing or editing medical content.
- Strong
project management skills, leading cross-functional team toward common objectives.
- Proven
team player/coach.
- Beneficial
if familiar with Web technologies such as HTML and streaming media.
- Familiar
with the following software packages: Microsoft
Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Ideal
candidate would have instructional design and teaching experience; medical device or
pharmaceutical experience; and/or post-doctoral clinical or residency training.
