Director of Investor Relations
Understanding trends in biotechnology and drug development and effectively positioning
Company to outside investors, biotech analysts and media.
Will be the primary day-to-day contact with shareholders.
Should understand scientific and medical basis for company products, evaluating commercial
and competitive landscape and effectively positioning products to investors, biotech
analysts and media.
Managing Company relationships with investors, equity analysts, investment bankers and the
media.
Supporting executive management with fund-raising and SEC compliance.
Supporting executive management with aspects of marketing, strategy, and corporate
partnerships.
Will be responsible for investor conference presentations, road shows, one-on-one meetings
and conference calls.
Will monitor industry and competitor news.
Managing in a supervisory role the development of company presentations for quarterly
calls, investor and scientific conferences.
May manage in a supervisory role the issuance and development of press releases, marketing
materials, website and annual report.
Other responsibilities will include:
Support CEO and CFO in their role as company spokespersons to position, introduce and
market to investors and potential investors.
Clearly and consistently convey strategic direction and competitive differentiators to a
wide range of investors, including updating of Company website and all drafting of all
corporate materials
Provide strategic counsel to senior management, as required, regarding all matters
affecting shareholder's perception of performance and strategies, including positioning of
company and timing of key announcements.
Oversee corporate events including Annual Meeting of Shareholders and company-hosted
investor/analyst days.
Strategize, design and develop management presentations to the financial community,
including visuals and speaker notes; manage targeting and securing participation in
investment conferences.
Develop Q&A and other collateral for quarterly conference calls, periodic investment
conferences, and shareholder meetings; oversee direction of or participation in these and
other financial community-oriented events.
Bachelor's degree in Business (preferably a marketing or public relations background), MBA
preferred. Requires solid investor relations experience, and knowledge of financial and
media communications in the biotechnology or biopharma industry. Candidate should have
experience and a working knowledge of SEC disclosure requirements and shareholder/analyst
communications practices. Specific qualifications desired include:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with and influence internal and external audiences
- Must have a strong understanding of finance and capital markets, securities law and
accounting
- Experienced in investor relations and public relations or corporate communications in a
publicly traded company in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Should be a strategic self-starter
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must show a proven ability to develop and execute plans in both a timely and effective
manner
- Multi-tasking of complex projects is required
- Ability to travel when necessary including potential international travel |
